  Standard angle beam transducers have a large element size, enabling the inspection of thick components and providing a large scanning index. They are used with a wedge to introduce a refracted shear weave or longitudinal wave into a test piece. They come in a variety of styles, including high-temperature varieties, and with frequencies as low as 0.5 MHz.
